Suwan Zhu is a pioneer in the field of bioinspired smart surfaces and microdroplet manipulation, where she has made transformative contributions by integrating photothermal, electrostatic, and magnetic actuation mechanisms. Her landmark work on the *Transparent Light‐Driven Hydrogel Actuator* (99 citations) introduced a novel approach to three-dimensional motion by harnessing the photothermal Marangoni effect and buoyancy flow, enabling direct light-to-work conversion for soft robotics.
