About
Roshni Kaushik is a researcher at the intersection of human-robot interaction, nonverbal communication, and affective computing. Her work explores how robots can use body movement—not just facial expressions—to convey emotion, coordinate with humans, and improve task performance. In her highly cited 2021 study on the humanoid robot Quori, she demonstrated that torso and arm movements alone can effectively communicate emotional states, opening new avenues for more expressive, accessible social robots.
