About
Rita De Berardinis is a pioneering head and neck surgeon whose work centers on advancing minimally invasive surgical techniques for complex craniofacial and laryngeal cancers. Her primary research focuses on transoral robotic surgery (TORS) for anatomically challenging regions, particularly the parapharyngeal space (PPS)—a rare and intricate tumor site where traditional open surgery carries significant morbidity. In her landmark 2019 study, she demonstrated the safety and efficacy of TORS for PPS tumors at a tertiary center, establishing a new standard for organ-sparing approaches in this delicate area.
