About
Luigi Boni is a leading figure in minimally invasive and robotic colorectal surgery, with a career dedicated to advancing surgical technique, safety, and education. His research centers on the optimization of laparoscopic and robotic approaches for colon and rectal cancer, with major contributions to the standardization of anastomotic techniques and the development of objective assessment tools. Notably, he led the creation of the A-OSATS score, a validated instrument for objectively evaluating technical skills in intestinal anastomoses—a critical step toward reproducible surgical training.
