K. Ulaczyk is a leading observational astronomer whose work bridges the frontiers of gravitational-wave astrophysics and exoplanet detection via gravitational microlensing. As a key member of the Gravitational-wave Optical Transient Observer (GOTO) project, Ulaczyk has been instrumental in designing and commissioning a network of wide-field robotic telescopes dedicated to rapidly identifying optical counterparts to gravitational-wave sources—a critical capability for multimessenger astronomy.
