S. Rahvar is a leading figure in gravitational microlensing, a powerful technique for detecting exoplanets and stellar objects that are otherwise invisible. His research focuses on developing and implementing automated, real-time strategies to maximize the discovery potential of this method. Rahvar’s major contribution is the design of fully deterministic microlensing observing strategies, which systematically optimize telescope time to infer the statistical properties of entire planet populations, rather than just finding individual worlds.
