About
Jorge Neiva is a marine robotics researcher whose work bridges the gap between advanced autonomous systems and real-world oceanographic monitoring. His primary research areas include underwater vehicle operations, command and control architectures for multi-vehicle teams, and the application of marine robotics to behavioural ecology. Neiva’s most influential contribution is the integrated monitoring of ocean sunfish (*Mola mola*), where he demonstrated the first near-real-time, fine-scale tracking of these elusive animals using satellite tags in southern Portugal (2016, 31 citations).
