Dr. Hwanik Kim is a pioneering urologic surgeon whose research is reshaping the landscape of robotic-assisted oncologic surgery. His work centers on improving surgical precision and patient outcomes in the treatment of kidney, bladder, and prostate cancers. Dr. Kim’s most impactful contributions include validating the clinical significance of adherent perinephric fat (APF) during robot-assisted partial nephrectomy, demonstrating that preoperative assessment of APF can predict surgical difficulty and perioperative outcomes.
