Greg Smith is an instrumental astronomer and optical engineer whose career has centered on designing and building the advanced spectroscopic instruments that power modern observational astronomy. Working primarily with the Australian Astronomical Observatory and the Anglo-Australian Telescope (AAT), Smith has made foundational contributions to multi-object spectroscopy and fiber-positioning technology.
