About
Farjaad M. Siddiq is a pioneering urologic surgeon whose work has been instrumental in advancing robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgery. His primary research focuses on the application of the da Vinci Surgical System for complex urological procedures, particularly laparoscopic pyeloplasty for ureteropelvic junction obstruction. Siddiq’s landmark study, “Computer-Assisted Laparoscopic Pyeloplasty: University of Miami Experience with the daVinci™ Surgical System” (43 citations), prospectively evaluated 26 cases, demonstrating the feasibility and safety of the robotic platform in a field previously dominated by conventional laparoscopy. This work provided early, critical evidence that robotic assistance could enhance precision in reconstructive urology.
