About
Dehao Li is a pioneering researcher at the intersection of human-robot interaction and intelligent agricultural robotics. Their foundational work on communication atmosphere modeling introduced the innovative concept of the Fuzzy Atmos-field (FA), which dynamically represents the emotional states of both humans and robots during interaction. By employing weighted fusion of bimodal cues—speech and gesture—and fuzzy logic, Li developed a framework that allows robots to perceive and respond to human emotions, enabling more natural and empathetic human-robot collaboration. This seminal paper, with 10 citations, has influenced subsequent studies in affective computing and social robotics. More recently, Li has advanced the field of agricultural automation with their 2024 review on intelligent harvesting robots, synthesizing cutting-edge developments in perception, manipulation, and decision-making for autonomous fruit and vegetable harvesting. This work highlights Li’s versatility in bridging emotional intelligence with practical robotics applications, demonstrating a commitment to creating robots that are both socially aware and functionally effective in real-world settings.
