About
Chunxiao Jiang is a leading researcher at the intersection of robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), and intelligent autonomous systems. His work is fundamentally shaping how we deploy mobile robotic platforms for complex environmental monitoring, with a particular focus on underwater and terrestrial exploration. A major contribution is his pioneering design and control of a fish-robot-based IoT platform for "Smart Ocean" applications, a highly cited work (50 citations) that demonstrates how bio-inspired underwater robots equipped with multiple sensors can serve as reliable mobile data collectors for the Internet of Underwater Things (IoUT). This research addresses critical challenges in building robust information collection systems for marine environments. More recently, Jiang has advanced the field of autonomous exploration with his "Omni-Explorer" framework, which introduces a novel Field of View (FOV) expansion mechanism to overcome the limitations of traditional methods that produce impractical, discontinuous trajectories. This work promises to dramatically reduce exploration time for mobile robots.
