Abstract

In this paper we present the development of a 3D-printable robot that is to help children with separating waste. The robot is designed as a friendly monster that interacts with the children to educate them about proper waste disposal. It is a low cost version of a robot prototype made from papier mâché designed to educate primary school children. To make the robot more affordable and easier to build, easier to deploy in the real world and more widespread, we designed a scaled down version of that prototype. We selected widely available components for the inner electronics and designed a 3D-printable body to make it replicable more easily.
