Abstract
To the factory, one or two sets of CNC machines, or maybe one set of automatic equipment, integrated with several industrial robots can form a flexible manufacture cell (FMC). If the FMC integrates an automatic conveyor system or an auto-guided cart, then this system upgrades to become a flexible manufacturing system (FMS). With factory automation rapidly progressing, mechatronics will modify to cooperate with CIM system development. In this article, a computer integration system designed for education purposes is presented. The CIM system includes an automatic warehouse with a graphic monitor, a conveyor, network communication, object moving/fitting workstation, object screwing workstation, and object milling/drilling workstation. In this system, every sub-system is designed in an open structure form in order to challenge trainee wisdom.
