Abstract
An integrated robot design and simulation system called IRODESS is presented. The system provides the user with a specially developed descriptive language that allows the design of robots and workcells of the user's choice. As an integrated simulation environment, IRODESS allows the user to implement and test controls of his/her choice in a simple manner. The system provides the user with animation which can display the 3D movement of single or multiple robots in a workcell and trace their trajectories. The IRODESS database specification and control module are described.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
