Simulation and Analysis of Mechanical Characteristics of a 6-DOF Spray-painting Robot

Abstract
This paper presents the simulation and analysis of mechanical characteristics of a 6-DOF spray-painting robot. Firstly, the spray-painting robot is designed and SolidWorks is used to build the three-dimensional model of the spray-painting robot. Then, the model is imported into ANSYS Workbench, and the static finite element analysis of the main parts of the spray-painting robot in dangerous positions is carried out. After these, the model is imported into ADMAS simulation software to conduct dynamic characteristic simulation. During the process, the virtual prototype model is established and the drive and load conditions are applied. Finally, the characteristic curves of the important components are obtained and the results are discussed. Research results shows the mechanical characteristics of the spray-painting robot are stable and reliable.
