Abstract
In this paper, the permanent magnet motors for robot arms is designed by applying two winding methods. Distributed winding and concentrated winding were applied to two motors having the identical rotor, and the inner and outer diameter dimensions of the stator were designed to be the same. Two motors were fabricated by changing the number of slots and the winding design of the stator. The characteristics of the two motors were described through performance tests and measurement.
