Abstract
In the robotics and automobile sector, the need of a linear frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) based proximity sensor has arisen for detecting the near and far-field range targets. Due to this, there is a requirement of a reliable and low cost range calibration system for the proximity sensors. In the vehicle, these sensors are primarily used to avoid collision. This paper presents the design of the FMCW radar simulator for range calibration. In the simulator, different range delay co-axial cables are used as a target range. As per the design proposed in this paper, a prototype simulator for field calibration has been fabricated. The results obtained during the simulator's experimental analysis are satisfactory and presented in the paper.
