Abstract
A model for spoken dialogue between an operator and a mobile robot in the procedural network formalism is described. The model is used to improve speech recognition by the robot and aid in the design of the robot's language generation component. Some probabilistic language models for understanding dialogue, which may be generally applicable to a variety of systems, are described.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
