Abstract

In article number 1803637, Tae-il Kim and co-workers highlight recent progress in bioinspired electronics for artificial sensory systems mimicking the five traditionally recognized senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch, as well as non-human senses. Sensors that can convert various external stimuli into electrical signals using novel electronic components and fabrication techniques can potentially function as artificial sensory systems in a broad spectrum of applications, including prostheses and humanoid robots.
