Abstract

Addressing the growing negative impacts on global food security due to sociopolitical and environmental challenges, this paper explores the potential of 5G networks and IoT-enabled unmanned agricultural robots in revolutionizing precision agriculture. We discuss how 5G networks facilitate real-time data collection and analysis from various sensors and IoT devices, empowering farmers to make informed decisions on irrigation, fertilization, and pest control, thereby increasing crop yields and reducing environmental impacts. Moreover, we examine the implementation challenges of WSN and 5G networks in precision agriculture applications and offer recommendations to optimize the development and adoption of 5G-enabled agricultural solutions. Our findings emphasize the role of 5G networks and IoT in enhancing the sustainability and productivity of the agricultural sector, paving the way for autonomous tractors, drones, robots, and fully automated farms.
