Abstract

This paper aims to find low-cost solutions for the automatic inspection and packaging of an integral part of vehicles, called the suspension mat. This automation substitutes the manual labor and is integrated onto the assembly line of suspension mats which is, aside from the inspection and packaging, fully automated. Through careful analysis of the possible solutions for the delivery and inspection of the part, being a robotized operation and the cheaper automatic systems, automatic systems are used for the inspection and an industrial robot for the delivery of the suspension mat. Through this developed concept, manual labor is eliminated, thus eliminating the labor cost as well as increasing the reliability, productivity and efficiency of the inspection and delivery of the component.
