Abstract
We discuss the general concept of the super mechano-system (SMS) and show the meaning of SMS exemplifying the human body. We show several features and anticipated applications of SMS and illustrate three types of SMS, such as snake-like robots, walking-type robots, and group type robots called a super mechano-colony. Design and features of several types of already constructed SMS robots such as snake-like robot "ACMR1", rescue robot "Souryu", steep slope walking robot "TITANVII", walking demining robot, group rovers with parent and children units called SMC rover are then discussed.
