Abstract
The paper discusses technology for landmine detection, including: detection sensors; Comet II six-legged walking mine detection robot; a multisensor approach in the Hudem project; and the Swarm concept for mini robots that operate like insects. Although numerous basic research projects are in progress, integrating the work into a testable system is itself a significant challenge. At CCMAT, promising technologies that are field ready are tested and evaluated at DRES for mine detection effectiveness.
