摘要
Seminal vesicles are paired male organs originating from the mesonephric ducts and playing a role in male fertility. Pathologic conditions of the seminal vesicles include benign and malignant processes. Benign conditions, such as seminal vesicle cysts, stones, infection, or infertility issues relating to obstruction may warrant interventions. Malignant neoplasms include primary tumors such as adenocarcinoma and sarcoma, or more commonly, secondary neoplasms such as local extension from prostate cancer. Diagnosis often relies on radiographic imaging with transrectal ultrasound, computer tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. Most surgical conditions of the seminal vesicles may be approached by the endoscopic, laparoscopic or robotic techniques described in this chapter.
