Sustainable manufacturing encompasses the consideration of environmental repercussions, energy utilization, and the economic ramifications inherent in the product creation process. Welding and processing constitute pivotal elements within the manufacturing domain. The attainment of sustainability in welding and processing has emerged as a critical area of concern in contemporary manufacturing. The present chapter expounds upon the multifaceted components of sustainability across various welding and processing methodologies. The discourse encompasses an in-depth analysis of energy conservation, material waste minimization, resource optimization, and process parameters, accentuating the environmental advantages and cost-efficiency potentials inherent in diverse welding techniques. The abovementioned processes are systematically categorized under distinct classifications of welding and processing, including fusion arc welding, gas-based welding and processing, laser-assisted welding and processing, resistance welding and processes, and solid-state welding. New technologies have also emerged, such as robotic welding, use of welding cobots, welding drone in different places of welding to increase the productivity, enhancing the quality of weld and to address welding at critical places. A career in welding is also very encouraging for welding engineers. All these factors combine to make the welding process more sustainable and acceptable in the future.
