摘要
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is globally recognized as one of the most promising innovative technologies. Most organizations around the world in various sectors—like healthcare, education, agriculture, smart cities and manufacturing—are making efforts to harness the capabilities of AI. Concepts like smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 have prompted many global enterprises to use automation and intelligent robots to improve manufacturing quality, enhance quality of finished products and increase overall productivity. AI is considered a vital tool to augmented manufacturing by facilitating research and development, enhancing quality, reducing errors and helping to improve supply chains through optimized demand forecasting. The global AI market size was valued at $39.9 billion in 2019 and it is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 42.2% from 2020–2027. The global AI market size in manufacturing was valued to be $1.82 billion in 2019 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 24.2% from 2020–2027. Since the rise of the internet, the world’s top manufacturing companies have digitized their operations. As a result, terabytes of data flow from almost every tool on the factory. With the help of AI, manufacturing companies can use this information to reduce costs and improve overall efficiency.
