摘要
A true cognitive radio does not have to be limited to achieving dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS), to simply an upgraded version of Sofware Defined Radio (SDR), or even to a number-crunching machine that can perform pre-defined cross-layer optimizations. Based on this broader view, we put-forth a new vision for a futuristic cognitive radio device: We define it to be a radio device that is capable of autonomously self-managing itself and self-reconfiguring to match its RF environment, using reconfigurable antennas, while continuously self-learning from its past experience. We call our proposed autonomous cognitive radios as Radiobots: They are the radio device equivalence of robots in mechanical engineering or Autobots in children's sci-fi movies! While every Radiobot will be a cognitive radio, none of the cognitive radios found in current literature can be considered as a Radiobot.
