摘要

This report provides a quick summary of the introduction of small teleoperated robots to disaster-related search and rescue operations following the 11 September 2001 terrorist attack upon the World Trade Center in New York City. This report also lists certain lessons learned from that event and proposes recommendations based upon those lessons for future development, deployment, and operation of urban search and rescue robotic tools.
