About
Toyohiro Yamada is a leading urologic surgeon and researcher advancing the frontiers of prostate and bladder cancer treatment. His work focuses on optimizing perioperative outcomes for high-risk and very-high-risk prostate cancer through innovative chemohormonal therapy combinations. In a landmark 2023 study, Yamada demonstrated that neoadjuvant therapy with an LHRH antagonist and tegafur-uracil (UFT) is both efficacious and safe for high-risk patients, achieving a significant biochemical recurrence-free rate after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy.
