About
Dr. Raj Satkunasivam is a pioneering urologic oncologic surgeon whose work has fundamentally advanced the boundaries of minimally invasive robotic surgery for complex genitourinary conditions. His primary research areas include robotic management of advanced renal cell carcinoma, particularly inferior vena cava (IVC) tumor thrombectomy, and the development of novel surgical techniques for ureteral reconstruction. His landmark contribution, the initial series of completely intracorporeal robotic Level III IVC tumor thrombectomy (142 citations), demonstrated that one of the most challenging open urologic oncology procedures could be performed safely with a robotic approach, transforming the surgical landscape for patients with advanced kidney cancer.
