About
R. Semrau is a radiation oncologist whose research has made significant contributions to the field of stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and robotic radiosurgery, with a particular focus on the precise treatment of oligometastatic disease and early-stage malignancies. Working within the framework of the German Society for Radiation Oncology (DEGRO), Semrau played a central role in the landmark SBRT database initiative, a large-scale pooled analysis of 474 patients with liver oligometastases that has garnered over 150 citations and helped establish evidence-based patterns of care for this challenging clinical scenario. Beyond hepatic metastases, Semrau's work spans risk-adapted SBRT for inoperable non-small-cell lung cancer, robotic treatment of adrenal metastases in oligometastatic NSCLC, and international benchmarking of inverse treatment planning for spinal radiosurgery — collectively accumulating over 250 citations.
