About
Jinzhao Wang is a materials scientist and engineer whose research spans flexible electronics, advanced manufacturing, and high-performance structural materials. His most recognized contribution lies in the development of stretchable and reliable strain sensors, particularly through the innovative use of PEDOT:PSS/Ag nanowire hybrid films embedded into elastomers via transfer-printing techniques. This work, which has garnered 55 citations since 2018, addressed a critical limitation in wearable electronics — the trade-off between sensing range and reliability — opening new pathways for applications in electronic skins, health monitoring systems, and soft robotics. Alongside his work in flexible devices, Wang has made meaningful contributions to the field of pipeline steel welding, investigating how high-energy laser welding processes affect microstructural evolution and mechanical performance in X100 pipeline steel. His studies on thermal cycling and coarse-grained heat-affected zones provide quantitative insights that can directly inform safer and more efficient oil and gas infrastructure construction, earning 17 and 6 citations respectively. Together, Wang's body of work reflects a versatile research profile bridging cutting-edge wearable technology with critical industrial materials challenges, making his findings relevant to both emerging consumer technologies and large-scale engineering applications.
