About
Jia Huang is a leading thoracic surgeon and researcher whose work has fundamentally shaped the evidence base for minimally invasive and robotic-assisted thoracic surgery, particularly in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and thymomas. Based at a high-volume Chinese center, Huang has been a pioneering figure in the adoption of robot-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (RATS) in mainland China, contributing to some of the earliest and largest Chinese series of robotic lobectomy dating back to 2009. His comparative studies — evaluating RATS against video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) and open approaches across diverse patient populations, including elderly patients and those receiving neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy — have collectively garnered over 270 citations, providing surgeons worldwide with critical perioperative and oncological outcome data.
