Dr. Giulia Turri is a leading colorectal surgeon whose research is redefining minimally invasive approaches to colon and rectal cancer surgery. Her work centers on three key areas: the comparative effectiveness of laparoscopic, robotic, and open techniques; the optimization of recovery pathways; and the clinical validation of emerging surgical platforms. In her landmark multicenter study on segmental transverse colectomy, Dr. Turri demonstrated that totally laparoscopic and robotic approaches offer significant advantages over open surgery, challenging long-held controversies and providing critical evidence for 388 patients (13 citations).
