Dipankar Nandi is a pioneering neurosurgeon whose work sits at the intersection of advanced robotics and minimally invasive cranial surgery. His research focuses on establishing the feasibility and safety of robotic-assisted techniques for complex neurosurgical procedures, with the goal of improving patient outcomes and surgical precision. In his landmark 2014 cadaver study, which has garnered 72 citations, Nandi demonstrated the viability of the da Vinci surgical robot for keyhole neurosurgery, successfully performing approaches such as supraorbital subfrontal and retrosigmoid craniotomies.
