D. H. Hartmann is an astrophysicist whose research centers on the high-energy universe, with key contributions to the study of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) and classical novae. Hartmann is best known for work on ultra-long GRBs, exemplified by the landmark study of GRB 091024A (91 citations), which provided a broadband analysis of one of the most extreme bursts ever detected, spanning over 1,300 seconds of prompt emission.
