C. Hellier is a leading figure in exoplanet discovery, best known for his pivotal role in the Wide Angle Search for Planets (WASP) project. His research focuses on the detection and characterization of transiting exoplanets using wide-field, ground-based photometric surveys. As a key member of the WASP consortium, Hellier has been instrumental in operating and advancing the twin SuperWASP camera arrays in La Palma and South Africa, which have revolutionized the field by enabling the discovery of dozens of exoplanets around bright stars.
