About
Bernhard Meyer is a pioneering neurosurgeon whose work has fundamentally shaped the integration of robotics and navigation into spinal surgery. His research centers on the clinical validation and advancement of robotic-assisted pedicle screw placement, intraoperative imaging, and neurosurgical navigation systems. Meyer’s landmark 2010 study on the SpineAssist surgical robot, cited over 400 times, provided critical early evidence of the clinical acceptance and accuracy of robot-guided spinal implants. He followed this with a seminal 2012 randomized controlled trial, cited nearly 350 times, which definitively demonstrated the superior accuracy of robot-assisted lumbar and sacral pedicle screw placement over conventional freehand techniques.
