Anne-Marie C. Dingemans is a leading thoracic surgeon whose pioneering work has advanced the field of minimally invasive thymic surgery, particularly for patients with myasthenia gravis (MG) and thymomas. Her research focuses on optimizing surgical techniques and outcomes for these complex conditions, with a major contribution being the validation of robotic thymectomy as a safe and effective approach. In her landmark 2014 study, cited over 66 times, she analyzed a large cohort of MG patients, demonstrating that robotic thymectomy yields excellent neurological outcomes—including symptom remission—alongside superior surgical results, such as reduced blood loss and shorter hospital stays.
