Andreas Tsouris is a molecular biologist whose research focuses on the genetic and pathogenic mechanisms of fungal pathogens, particularly the emerging threat *Candida glabrata*. His most notable contribution is the development and application of RNA interference (RNAi) as a high-resolution tool for phenotypic screening in this yeast. In his landmark 2022 study, Tsouris pioneered a method to systematically silence genes in *C. glabrata*, enabling researchers to directly link specific genes to drug resistance, biofilm formation, and virulence traits.
