AnHai Doan is a leading researcher in data integration, knowledge base construction, and crowdsourcing, whose work has fundamentally shaped how large-scale, heterogeneous data is managed and harnessed. He is best known for pioneering the concept of "pay-as-you-go" data integration, which allows systems to gradually improve data quality and schema matching without upfront, exhaustive effort—a paradigm shift that made data integration more practical and scalable.
