About

Xiaosheng Fang is a leading materials scientist whose research focuses on the design and synthesis of advanced nanostructured materials for optoelectronic and flexible electronic devices. His major contributions lie in developing mechanically robust nanofibrous membranes and bio-inspired artificial visual systems. Notably, his work on Y³⁺-doped TiO₂ nanofibrous membranes achieved a breakthrough in flexibility for UV photodetectors, overcoming the inherent fragility of polycrystalline TiO₂ fibers—a key challenge for wearable electronics (73 citations). More recently, Fang pioneered a light-adaptive mimicking retina using resistive switching photomemristor arrays, enabling in situ image memorization without the need for separate sensor and memory modules (16 citations). This innovation simplifies artificial visual memory systems, advancing machine vision and bionic robotics. With a career marked by high-impact publications, Fang’s research bridges fundamental materials engineering and practical device applications, earning recognition for pushing the boundaries of flexible optoelectronics and neuromorphic computing. His work continues to inspire new directions in smart, adaptive electronic skins and intelligent visual prosthetics.
