Isidro F. Aguillo is a pioneering figure in cybermetrics and webometrics, best known for developing innovative methods to measure scholarly communication and institutional visibility on the web. His research focuses on the quantitative analysis of web-based academic content, particularly the ranking and evaluation of universities through their online presence. Aguillo’s most cited work, "La salud de las web universitarias españolas" (2003, 31 citations), laid the groundwork for assessing the health and impact of Spanish university websites, highlighting how the web serves as a critical tool for disseminating research and administrative information.
