ANYmal X
ANYboticsANYmal X is a quadruped inspection robot developed by ANYbotics (founded 2016, ETH Zurich spin-out, Zurich Switzerland), purpose-built for autonomous industrial inspection in hazardous and explosive environments. It is the world's first Ex-certified (ATEX/IECEx Zone 1) legged robot, with market availability targeted for 2026. The system carries a rich sensor suite (thermal, acoustic imaging with 64 microphones, gas detectors, LiDAR, visual cameras) and executes fully autonomous inspection missions — navigating stairs, multiple floors, and uneven terrain without a human performing the task. Over 200 units of the broader ANYmal family have shipped, with deployments at Equinor, BASF, ENI, Petrobras, and Northern Lights CCS; the company has raised over $150 million in total funding.
