ANYmal D Explorer
ANYboticsANYmal D Explorer is a quadruped inspection robot developed by ANYbotics (ETH Zurich spin-out, founded 2016, HQ Zurich). It autonomously navigates complex industrial environments — climbing stairs, recovering from falls, and self-docking to charge — while collecting multi-modal sensor data (thermal, visual, acoustic, gas, LiDAR) for predictive maintenance and safety monitoring. The system has been independently verified in long-term deployments at cement plants, offshore platforms, substations, mines, and steel plants, performing thousands of inspections per week with no human performing the inspection task itself. It supports both fully autonomous scheduled missions and teleoperated modes, with human operators receiving alerts and reviewing flagged anomalies rather than driving the inspection task.
