Abstract

With the continuous progress of agricultural technology, intelligent picking robots are becoming more and more important in agricultural production. Therefore, it is significant to develop an intelligent chilli picking robot based on machine vision and manipulator. This design is an intelligent chilli picking robot designed for picking short-planted crops such as chilli. Its system design covers the visual recognition system, manipulator control system technology. A retractable six-degree-of-freedom manipulator structure is designed, which makes the manipulator more accurate and efficient in controlling the trajectory and strength, and enables accurate cutting of chilli peppers. The visual recognition system can accurately identify the position of the chilli. After testing and validation in real scenarios, the robot is able to accurately identify and efficiently pick chilli peppers, and almost no damage is caused to the crop during the picking process.
