Abstract
The Automatic Garbage Collector is an IoT-based system designed to automate waste collection. A line follower robot, ESP32, ultrasonic sensors, and a servo motor with electromagnets were all integrated into the system to efficiently detect, gather, and move trash without the need for human assistance. A smart dustbin with an ultrasonic sensor detects the fill level and sends a signal to ESP32-2 via MQTT. ESP32-2 activates an Arduino-controlled line follower robot, which navigates to the bin. Real-time updates were made possible with MQTT communication, guaranteeing prompt trash disposal. An ultrasonic sensor detects obstacles, triggering a buzzer for safety. The robot, equipped with a 360° servo motor and electromagnets, lifts the filled bin, replaces it with an empty one, and transports the garbage to a central disposal area. This system improves efficiency, reduces human effort, optimizes waste management, and ensures a cleaner environment. The research addresses inefficiencies in traditional waste collection, such as delays and high labor costs, by implementing a fully automated approach. The system's real-time communication and autonomous operation make it a scalable solution for smart cities.
