Theory and practice of using physical force, special means and firearms by police officers

Abstract

The article describes the problems and grounds for the use of physical force and special means. The author notes that physical impact on the part of a police officer is a type of administrative coercion. The article examines the need to comply with prohibitions and restrictions related to the use of this type of coercion by police officers, the limits of the use of physical force and special means. The work systematizes doctrinal provisions regarding the category of "use of firearms", gives a description of the features of its legal regulation, while focusing on the comprehensive nature of this regulation. Based on the study, the author formulates proposals aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the use of physical force and special means, improving the procedure for the use of firearms in the con-text of the development of digital and robotic technologies.
