Abstract

An important development in the field of artificial intelligence is represented by hybrid AI technologies, which combine the advantages of symbolic AI and deep learning. Symbolic AI has strong reasoning capabilities based on organized knowledge and logical inference, but deep learning is excellent at managing unstructured input, such as text, audio, and images. By combining these two paradigms, the shortcomings of each will be addressed, and AI systems will be able to reason, explain, and make transparent decisions in addition to learning from massive volumes of data. These hybrid systems have been used in a variety of domains where both reasoning and data-driven learning are crucial, including as robotics, natural language processing, autonomous cars, and healthcare diagnostics. Even with great advancements, problems like scalable knowledge representation, smooth integration, and guaranteed interpretability still exist. With a focus on improving generality, scalability, and transparency in AI systems, this paper examines the most recent developments in hybrid AI algorithms, presents practical applications, and talks about the future directions of research. The growing significance of hybrid AI in the creation of sophisticated, reliable AI systems is highlighted by its potential to revolutionize industries and resolve challenging, high-stakes issues. enormous volumes of data, but also use logic, justification, and open decision-making.
